Seventeen years, eight moves, this state has known me in many ways. You could think I am always in transition and you are probably right; always shifting and realigning with the self. However, this time is different. I am sharing my time and space with someone else; as different as vinegar and oil we are and that makes it challenging and exciting. So, I guess it is not the constant flux but the demands of the task what attracts me to these new walls. Here, within my new surroundings, I am finding the calmness of a lake flowing, the chirping of the birds flying, snakes sniffing the grass, and tall oak trees circling and marking their territory.
Every change is an opportunity to purge, rethink, and become intentional about our living. Starting over is the opportunity to re-structure our life any way we want. I am riding my bike again and moving forward to new invigorating possibilities.
Like Tennessee Williams once said: “The future is called ‘perhaps,’ which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the important thing is not to allow that to scare you.” – And I would add to remain true to who you are and open to the adventure life is.
