Thoughts on Everyday Shifting and Bending

Transitions remind us the ever changing waves of life. When planned, they give us the ability to display our abilities, reminding us that in order to explore new landscapes we must be flexible and adapt. If unexpected, they serve us to unveil our inner strength and creativity when facing challenges. Each shift brings us closer to our reality. Transformation is the personal peregrination conducive to improvement and the optimization of the self. Every step brings us closer to the final destination by unveiling the pieces of our soul. The secret resides on how bendable we are willing to be in order to fully enjoy the ride

Living like the Seeds

It’s planting season and for the last couple of days I've been devoting some time to do just that; planting my beloved herbs. This time, however, the process was different. Being mindful while performing any activity makes the difference. While preparing the soil and selecting the seeds, a persistent thought occupied my mind; the basic laws of life are found in a seed, that tiny kernel that eventually with good care and nourishment transforms into a new plant. The key words here care and nourishment. With the right combination, the seed emerges as a flowering miracle. For us humans these elements are our thoughts, positive feelings, and the right actions; compassion, kindness, forgiveness and all the like feelings that help us blossom and tap into limitless potential.
Well taken care of the seeds we plant will later nourish us. Neglected and deprived from water, good soil, sun or adequate shade, they will die. The same happens with us and our relationships. When we neglect ourselves, our inner and outer body feels the lack. If we don’t take the time to feed our relationships with attention and caring they would eventually wither as well. What we sow each day in the soil of our lives are the thoughts in our minds, the words we speak, the feelings in our heart, and the good or bad decisions and deeds we make. Like the seeds, our healthy growth depends on what we give.
We can only reap what we have sown. Our daily experiences must be created in the same way we plant our seeds, with the same love; gathering all the perfect elements they need to flourish. Indeed nature and its cycles is our best teacher; simple lessons that could forever change our view of life.

Let the Spring Roll In

I can’t believe spring is already here even though this morning was still 32 degrees outside. It has been a long winter of layers and I am ready to bring out the sandals and enjoy my beloved sunny warm weather. The trees are showing flowering buds, the bees are roaming my deck, and days are longer which means I can stay out later still feeling the warmth of the sun; oh happy days to come. Like the Celtics I am out to celebrate the sun; the time of colors, re-birthing, and fertility.

Being an islander by birth, this is the season when I feel renewed, empowered to make changes, and inspired to chant for the miracles to come. This is a time of cleansing; inside and out, setting new goals, exploring new horizons, and adventuring into the unknown always trusting the GPS of your soul.

John O’Donohue wrote a beautiful blessing that inspires us all to open the windows to the colors of this season. I am sharing it with you hoping this season touches you and all your intentions be fulfilled.

May the light of your soul guide you
May the light of your soul bless the work you do with the secret love and warmth of your heart.
May you see in what you do the beauty of your own soul.
May the sacredness of your work bring healing, light and renewal to those who work with you and to those who see and receive your work.
May your work never weary you.
May it release within you wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration and excitement.
May you be present in what you do.
May you never become lost in the bland absences.
May the day never burden.
May dawn find you awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities and promises.
May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
May you go into the night blessed, sheltered and protected.
May your soul calm, console and renew you.

Count your spring blessings!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great story by Paulo Coehlo. Real life down to earth characters struggling to find the meaning of life; a mirror of what we all go through day by day. The amazing story of Linda makes us ponder and question. What's life's ultimate purpose? What force moves us? What is it that we should all strive for?
